You could spend a day with a world boss timer up (I like ) and just farm the heck out of the bosses and temples. They give dragonite ore in the chest that's tied to daily character completion. That means you can do a round of them, then switch characters and do another round. Dragonite Ore flows like you wouldn't believe.

It only takes a scavenger hunt achievement in Lion's Arch and eats up to 200ish dragonite ore per day in exchange for various blue/green gear and junk items. Dragonite Ore (and Bloodstone Dust and Empyreal Fragments) are used for Ascended crafting. You need 500 of each to make an Ascended weapon, and 200500 of each to make a piece of Ascended armour (depending on the piece). If you are levelling your crafting skills and envision yourself getting Ascended gear, save some for that time.
